🚓 Penn & Merry Hill Community Crime Update — June 2025 West Midlands Police – Penn & Merry Hill Neighbourhood Team

 

A recent spike in vehicle-related crime and residential burglaries has been noted in the Penn and Merry Hill areas. Below is a summary of reported incidents between 23rd and 28th June 2025:

 

🔐 Thefts of Motor Vehicles

  • Lulworth Walk Reported: 24 June 2025 at 07:16 Timeframe: 23 June 00:01 – 24 June 07:00 A black and orange Nissan Juke was stolen from outside the victim’s home. Vehicle was later recovered nearby.
  • Strathfield Walk Reported: 24 June 2025 at 07:20 Timeframe: 23 June 22:00 – 24 June 07:00 A white Nissan Juke was stolen by unknown means.
  • Highfields Court, Leasowes Drive Reported: 24 June 2025 at 10:20 Timeframe: 23 June 16:00 – 24 June 10:00 A red Nissan Juke was stolen while locked and unattended. Victim retained the keys.
  • Bhylls Lane Reported: 25 June 2025 at 07:50 Timeframe: 25 June 01:45 – 07:45 Grey Nissan Juke stolen from a driveway. 
  • Swancote Drive (Attempted Theft) Reported: 26 June 2025 at 01:29 Incident Time: 26 June 2025 at 01:29 Resident witnessed two males using an electronic key scanner to enter his vehicle. They fled when spotted.
  • Sedgley Road Reported: 24 June 2025 at 08:48 Timeframe: 23 June 23:00 – 24 June 08:00 A key-less grey Nissan Navara was stolen and later found nearby.
  • Wynchcombe Avenue Reported: 28 June 2025 at 05:02 Incident Time: 28 June 2025 at 00:23 A black Nissan Navara was stolen by offenders in a small vehicle.

    🏠 Residential Burglary

  • Pennhouse Avenue Reported: 23 June 2025 at 07:00 Time frame: 23 June 00:20 – 00:40 Offenders entered via a rear window, stole two sets of car keys, and drove away in a white Polestar. The vehicle was later recovered.

  • Store your car keys away from entry points
  • Use signal-blocking pouches for key-less vehicles
  • Secure your vehicle with visible deterrents
  • Lock all windows and doors at night
  • Consider home security measures like lighting and CCTV

    • 👮 Ongoing Police Action

    All reported offences are under investigation by the local policing team. CCTV evidence is actively being reviewed, and several stolen vehicles have already been recovered. Your support remains vital.
